For a lucrative career, our youth needs to find the purpose and objective of building career. It is constituted with four parts – What they love doing, What their talents are, What the world needs and What they are paid for. Similarly, in India, all basic UG degrees are converging towards Engineering Degrees (BE/ B Tech). Putting these two points together, a class XII student should select his/ her Engineering College carefully where his total Personality Development will take place effectively. For Army fraternity, undoubtedly, one name arises and that is Army Institute of Technology, Pune. This is the super ranked engineering institute exclusively for Army & Ex-Army wards, which recently celebrated its 29th Foundation Day.

The college was set up when Gen B.C. Joshi, PVSM AVSM, ADC (1935–1994), the then Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, saw the need for an engineering college for the children of all ranks of the Indian Army. His view was that children of army personnel were disadvantaged as far as education was concerned due to the direct consequence of soldiers serving under difficult conditions in remote areas, and their frequent transfers across the country. AIT functions under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) which has the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army (COAS), as the President of its Board of Governors.
