Education is a crucial factor for the quality of the life of an individual as well as the growth of an economy. In every sense education is one of the elementary factors of development. No country can achieve sustainable economic development without significant human capital. Education directly contributes to the process of modernization. It is well acknowledged that human resource is the key to national development and a sound human resource is created and developed by education.

Education enriches people’s understanding of themselves and surroundings too. The people contribute to the growth of national wealth through their creative abilities and productive efforts. Therefore, education upholds in the rising generation the knowledge, skills and attitudes which accelerate the pace of modernization. It improves the value of their lives and leads to comprehensive social benefits. In the last three decades economic research has revealed that education plays a crucial role in development.

As education is the backbone of a nation, the teachers are the foundation stone of a successful educational system. As said by Odden the teachers are the core of any education system. In fact, they are the strength of a nation. It is universally recognized that teacher’s plays a key role in creating student’s wisdom and academic accomplishment. Any attempt of National modernization is not possible without active participation of teachers. A nation is constructed by its people and people are molded by teachers. The role of teacher is not limited to the classroom teaching only, but it extends to building up of human, nation and society at large through maximum utilization of their potentialities. Various studies were conducted which concludes, that “the quality teachers are most important factor affecting performance of the students and system as well.

There are many factors which influence the job performance such as talent, approach, subject proficiency, teaching method, personal uniqueness, of a teacher. For expansion of eminent teachers, an organization need to understand the factors associated with it.

Concern with the development, productivity, competence, excellence or quality of organizations is a subject that has motivated the writings of economists, organization theorists, management philosophers, management thinkers, consultants, educationists and practitioners.

Recognizing the importance and demand for education, major challenge for the State is to equip a student for the capacity building, quality improvement and highly competitiveness in quick changing society in terms of knowledge and technology.

Changing the education model in our country and the increasing interconnectedness and interdependence from the global perspective of development has put unmatched demands on teacher for their professional development. This will allow maintaining the necessary level of competitiveness as a result of optimization of professional development of teachers. Without professional development of a teacher we cannot imagine the Education modernization.

The Teachers need to boost their creativity and competitiveness to enable students to play a more active role in the research and innovation process, to make informed choices and to engage in a democratic, knowledge-based society. In my view we need new competencies in teaching right now. However, if teacher and their teaching remain practical, flexible and child-centered than there is a hope that the next generation of learners will get the support and skills they need in life.

The teachers who aim to develop students instead of teaching them, who help them become independent, who provide motivation and interest for life-long learning and urge them to become sovereign learners, is essential in the education of the future for taking the responsibility in achieving relevant change.
